DELIVERING VALUE IN ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE
A consultancy proposition from A-B
All organisations constantly invest in changing the way they do business.
Typically, they use technology to improve their business processes
and deliver competitive advantage. All too often, these investments
fail to deliver their promised benefits.
The reasons for failure tend to fall into three categories:
- "We
lost sight of why we were doing it in the first place" -
Value Management
- "We
kept missing deadlines and lost control of the costs" - Project
Management
- "The
staff never got to grips with what they had to do" - Change
Management
All too often,
these three management disciplines are treated as separate components
of a business change initiative - and therefore compete for management
attention, for resources and for primacy.
Experience - and empirical evidence - shows us, however, that the
prospects for success are directly related to how well the interaction
between them is managed at the programme level. Delivering value
in organisational change is about ensuring that there is appropriate
connection between purpose, control and the people issues.
